Slănic Salt Mine and monasteries

South over the mountains to Slănic Prahova, one of the largest salt mines in Europe open to visitors, with halls more than 50 metres high. On the way, two monasteries in the hills: Suzana and Cheia.

    Down into the Unirea salt mine, where the vast halls stay at about 12 °C all year. Bring a warm layer.

  3. Suzana Monastery

    A quiet nuns’ monastery in the Teleajen valley, founded in the 18th century.

  4. Cheia Monastery

    The monastery at Cheia, near the pass that takes us back over the mountains to Brașov.

  5. Back in Brașov

    Back at your hotel in Brașov in the evening.
